  • Unable to Connect to QuickBooks

    I am unable to connect to QuickBooks, and the software will not let me go in and modify "open company" address name and I cannot go into any other feature to change. What do I do? (DMIE)

    When you choose Open Company from the File menu, are you able to choose your company to open? If the only company that appears in the list is the Sample Company, then there are two options for you:

    1. Create a New Company from the File menu, and point the Data File Path for the company to the location of that company's data folder on your computer or network. This will create a link to that company data again, and you'll be able to open the company using the correct data.
    2. Right-click on the icon for the Disbursement & JIB Manager, and choose Properties. In this screen, make sure that the Target and Start In are pointed to the same location they used to be, and have not changed. If you were previously opening the software from a server, or other computer on your network, then make sure that computer is still specified in the Target and Start In locations. If it is no longer appearing there, then you'll need to change the Target and Start In back to what they used to be. For example, if your computer has a drive mapped to the server named M:\ drive, then the Target should be: M:\DMPro\dmproqb.exe, and the Start In should be: M:\DMPro\ Once you have the Target and Start In pointed to the location where you are opening the software from originally, then you should be able to open the Disbursement & JIB Manager and see your company appear in the Open Company list.

    Once you are able to open your company, then you can open the Account Settings screen and specify the correct QuickBooks company for that company.
