Water Flood
Keep in mind that in SherWare a well is considered disbursing unit. Since you will be disbursing on a water flood you will need to set it up as a well. You can set a water flood up in two ways.
Option #1 - Two Steps
Setup
Enter each water flood as a well. Set up each tract as owners and give them a DOI record in the water flood based on the percentage each tract is of the total waterflood.
You will also create each tract as a well and setup the owners DOI in these tracts accordingly.
To keep the processing separate from all other wells put the water flood wells in their own group.
Processing Step #1
Enter all revenue and expenses into the waterflood wells. Close the run for this group so that you can see all the total of revenue/expenses for each tract.
Processing Step #2
You will then take the revenue and expenses for each tract and enter them for the respective wells that are set up as tracts. The monies will then be distributed correctly.
Option #2 - One Step
Setup
Enter each water flood as a well. Calculate what each owners interest is in the water flood and enter that as their DOI for the water flood.
For example - If an owner has 50% of a tract and the tract is 10% of the water flood he will have 5% of the water flood. His DOI Record will show 5%.
Processing
Enter all revenue and expenses as you do with the other wells in the system. Revenue and expenses will be allocated directly to the owners.
Option #2 is easier for you because it is in one step. The disadvantage for this option is that an owner might mistakenly think his interest is incorrect and he might call you for an explanation. From the example above he knows he has 50% interest in the tract but his interest will show as 5% because he has 5% interest in the water flood.
