Specifying the QuickBooks Company to Integrate With

Each company in SherWare will integrate with a different QuickBooks company. This is specified under the Maintain menu on the Company Information screen. The "QuickBooks Filename" field is where you specify what QuickBooks company this SherWare company should integrate with.

THE PATH SPECIFIED MUST BE THE SAME PATH THAT YOU WILL BE OPENING.

When specifying the path to the QuickBooks company you want to integrate with, be sure to use the UNC (Universal Naming Convention) or a path that is recognizable from all workstations that will be running the software.

You can see the path that QuickBooks is using for the currently open company from the File menu (within QuickBooks) by holding the mouse cursor over the "Open a Previous Company" menu item. Without clicking on anything, it will list QuickBooks companies that have most recently been open. The top one in the list is the path for the currently open QuickBooks company. Write this path down and make sure the path is specified exactly the same way on the Company Information screen (within SherWare) in the QuickBooks Filename field.
