Integrated Application Preferences

The preferences for the integration can be found in QuickBooks under the Edit menu by selecting Preferences, then Integrated Applications (list on left of screen), Company Preferences Tab. Each application that integrates with your QuickBooks data can be managed on this window.

Don't allow any application to access this company file
This option should not be marked. If it is marked, SherWare will not be able to interface with this QuickBooks company.

Notify the user before running any application whose certificate has expired.
This option does not need to be marked.

Applications
Any application that you have that has the ability to interface with QuickBooks will be listed here. The Disbursement and JIB Manager (Integrated Edition) should be listed and should have a check mark in the "Allow Access" column.

Allow Access
A check mark must be placed in this column beside each application that you want QuickBooks to interface with.

Properties:
Clicking the Properties button will bring up a separate window with additional preferences. The preferences will apply to the Application that is selected when the properties button is clicked on.
Make sure that The Disbursement and JIB Manager (Integrated Edition) is selected, and then click on the "Properties" button to view the properties for this application.

Allow this application to read and modify this company file
This option should be marked. If it is not marked then SherWare will not be able to interface with this QuickBooks company.

Prompt before allowing access
This option should not be marked. It will hinder the synchronization that needs to take place.

Allow this application to access Social Security Numbers...
This option does not need to be marked. SherWare does not access this information.

User
If you have multiple licenses for QuickBooks, you can choose a default user in the properties. The default user is the QuickBooks user that will be used if SherWare is connected to QuickBooks invisibly in the background (meaning QuickBooks was not opened first prior to opening SherWare). If QuickBooks was opened first, then when SherWare is opened it will use the current user logged into the QuickBooks company on that workstation instead of the default user.

With the preferences setup this way you will be able to open SherWare and it will automatically open QuickBooks for you. It will log in to QuickBooks as the user specified above. If someone is already logged in as that user then it will not be able to log in automatically.
