Electronic Filing Service Provided by SherWare

If you would like to file your 1099s electronically but do not have a TCC# or just don't want to mess with it then SherWare can file your 1099s for you. We can file your data with the IRS electronically for $99/company that you have set up in our system. You'd still have to send the printed copies to your owners (either the pre-printed kind, or the 1099 MISC replacement form from our software), but we'd take care of filing the data with the IRS for you. The filing deadline for the electronic filing is the end of March, so whenever you get your 1099 file finalized, we'd just need to get a copy of your data to pull the information from by March 15.

Signing up for this service - If you would like to take advantage of this service then simply notify SherWare support of your intention to do so. You can do this with an email or phone call. We will then add you to our list of those to file.
Building the 1099s - You will still need to create the 1099 file and verify that the 1099s are what you want them to be. We will not audit the numbers, we will just submit the numbers that you provide us.
Sending us your 1099 information - Once you've gotten your 1099 file the way you want it, you can go under the File Menu to Backup Data Files, and mark the option to Send File to SherWare Support. Email us when you back it up so we know it is in. We will then pull the information we need from your data. You do not have to create the electronic file.
Deadline - Your data must be sent to us by March 15th in order for us to submit the file for you. The filing deadline is March 31, but we'd be doing our filing about a week prior to that.
Billing - We will bill you for the service after the 1099s have been submitted successfully.

Have you filed electronically before? - If you have previously filed with your own TCC number, and are now having SherWare file your data, please contact the IRS to cancel your existing TCC number. A return is expected each year for every assigned TCC number, so unless you notify them that you will no longer need that number, you may receive a message from the IRS later in the year warning that a return has not been filed.
