I am trying to set up the software so it looks on a network location for the data. I cannot seem to be able to do this. It looks like the selection screen for the data path will not let me adjust the path. How do I do this?

You should be able to change the path using the Company Information screen found under the Maintain menu.

If you copy your data to a server, open the software and let it open the data on the local drive. Then go to Maintain, Company Information and change the data path to the server location and save.

Then go to File, Open Company and it will open the company from the server location.
