Opening SherWare and QuickBooks
You can tell which QuickBooks company is being integrated with the currently open SherWare company by the name of the QuickBooks company that appears in the title bar of the SherWare program. The name of the QuickBooks company will appear after 'QB:' in the title bar of the Disbursement & JIB Manager (Integrated Edition).
If you are using QuickBooks Pro 2007 or higher, SherWare will open QuickBooks in the foreground when trying to integrate with the specified QuickBooks company. This will allow you to toggle back and forth between QuickBooks and SherWare. However, if you are using a QuickBooks version prior to the one mentioned above, then SherWare will open QuickBooks invisibly in the background to integrated with the specified company, if QuickBooks is not already opened.
Connect To QuickBooks: If not connected to your QuickBooks company, you can connect to QuickBooks by choosing "Connect to QuickBooks" from the File menu in SherWare.
Close QuickBooks Connection: If you want to close the QuickBooks connection but keep the SherWare company open you can choose "Close QuickBooks Connection" from the File menu in SherWare.
Open only SherWare: You can open SherWare and leave QuickBooks closed if you want. Just make sure that you are integrated with QuickBooks when entering any well revenue or expenses.
Open both SherWare and QuickBooks: You can have both SherWare and QuickBooks open at the same time. QuickBooks must be opened first in order to do this.
A company is already open and is different than the one requested: If you get this message when opening SherWare then the open QuickBooks company is different than the one that is specified to integrate with on the Company Information screen. If you think that you do have the same company open, then it was likely opened using a different path than the one specified in the Company Information screen within SherWare. You will have to open the QuickBooks company through the same path that is specified on the Company Information screen. Refer to the Specifying the QB Company to integrate with topic for more on this.
